Who is the Wee Sleep Coach?
Hello! I’m Harriet - a.k.a The Wee Sleep Coach, a qualified infant sleep consultant. I help kids between 0-4 years old get the sleep they need. Because let's face it, when they sleep well, we all sleep well, right?
My journey into the world of sleep started with my own wee guy, Ethan who was born prematurely at 27 weeks. NICU life led to me being an anxious first-time parent. After being separated for 10 weeks whilst he was in NICU I wanted to make sure he never felt abandoned by me!
Fast forward 12 months and I was going back to work and I was going to flourish! I didn’t read Michelle Obama’s and Sheryl Sandberg’s books for nothing!
It was 2020 - women CAN have it all. I’d planned it out, I wasn’t going to make the same mistakes as my mum (sorry mum - I love you) I wouldn’t be rushing around. I’d be working 4-days, that sounded like a good balance. Day with my wee one (a Wednesday - I’ll never have to work more than 2 days in a row ) AND I’ll still have presence, lead my team, no one will realise I’m not even there one day.
Reality…
I went back to work. It was freaking HARD. Balance?! What balance?! I was dragging myself to that laptop fire fighting 103827 slack messages (+ the rest) My brain? FRIED. Where was this clear thinking brain I used to have? Why was I not able to make ANY decisions with any speed. I was a shell of a person.
I reported to the CPO at the time and called her (sobbing) to tell her I’d be resigning as I clearly no longer had the skills needed for the job…
Luckily, she didn’t listen to me. She got it. She had two kids. She’d been me. She said you’re tired.
I was! I really really was. When was the last time I’d had uninterrupted sleep? That’s when I knew something had to give - and so began a new passion. SLEEP.
I was already feeling guilty about work pulling my attention away from Ethan was I terrible mum for wanting to sleep too?! Should I not be embracing these during the night cuddles? So I didn’t want to be ‘training’ him to sleep and torture myself (or him) more by listening to him screaming.
But there was a solution - there are other ways to get longer stretches of sleep without feeling like you’re training for the SAS.
I read everything I could about it and tried it and it worked! Colleagues and friends would ask me for tips. They worked for them too. Then I went and actually put a qualification behind it all (a head of L&D and Management coach - I’m a lifelong learner)
I’ve turned the passion into a business. I want to empower parents to make decisions around their baby & preschooler’s sleep that works for them. Help parents feel like themselves again.

Don’t just take my word for it…
Kerrie’s Story
“With our 12 month old being unable to sleep through the night, waking for hours upset and both my husband and I not getting sleep for a full days work we were at the end of our tether.
We started to look into sleep coaches as they were recommended by some friends. We were very sceptical as we thought our night owl was beyond help but we were so so wrong.
In just 3 days our boy was sleeping through the night and a week in is able to sleep through and soothe himself to sleep- it was an unbelievable change.
Harriet was so helpful throughout and was very thorough in her checks prior to making a sleep plan for Rory. I cannot recommend her enough!”

Annalie’s Story
“I reached out to Harriet after struggling with my 8 month old daughters sleep. Fearne had generally been a good sleeper but when we got to about 5 months we could be up anywhere from 3-6 times a night. We co slept and is exclusively breastfed. I felt so trapped and didn’t know how to start the process of getting her in her own cot, in her own bedroom, and reducing night feeds. I have a 5 year old son who I needed to be up for the next day as my husband works away, and I was honestly on my knees.
I really wanted to approach this whole sleep situation really gently with the least amount of tears possible. Harriet was so encouraging, lovely and helpful throughout this whole experience. We had her full support for 3 weeks. She gave us a tailored plan and within a week we were seeing changes in Fearne’s sleep. Harriet was my little cheerleader from day 1, and I loved being able to message and voice note her debriefing on the night and if I needed help on what wake windows Fearne should do during the day. Harriet made this whole experience so positive for us, and there really was a minimal amount of tears from Fearne (and me)!
We went from co sleeping, being up every few hours and feeding back to sleep, to Fearne in her own room, in her own cot, self settling for bedtime, napping well during the day and getting up only once during the night; all within 3 weeks. The difference was unbelievable. This isn’t to say that there aren’t nights where she is more unsettled with illness or teething or just needing some comfort, or days where the naps aren’t amazing but what is so good is we have a framework to fall back on if things have got a little off track. One thing I would say is this isn’t an instant fix, changes won’t happen in 1 night. It was about gradually changing the routine and showing Fearne that she can sleep without me, but I’m there if she needs me. I never once didn’t respond to her if she needed me, but we remained consistent with the plan and saw results I never thought possible.
I honestly couldn’t have done this without Harriet, the whole household is getting so much more sleep, and as a result so much happier.”
